Subjects - Consumer rights - Shoppers rights

When you go shopping you have certain rights. You have the right not to have items for sale mis-described to you. You have the right to have them reasonably suitable for the purpose for which they are sold and for any particular purpose that you were told they were suitable for. If any of these rights are broken then you are entitled to your money back. You are not however generally entitled to get your money back just because you changed your mind about the purchase afterwards. In fact, most reputable stores will allow you a refund in such circumstances anyway, but that is a matter of their policy rather than a legal requirement, and it is important to remember that your rights are against the shop and you cannot be fobbed off by being told that your rights are against the manufacturer or anybody else.
