  • communicate in plain language.
  • explain the legal work that may be required.
  • advise regularly of the costs/risk benefit of pursuing a matter.
  • advise the client of the likely timescale involved.

Our Independence

Solicitors are completely independent. As a client you are entitled to expect that your solicitor will act for you and you alone and will take into account your interests and yours alone.

If you are a client of a solicitor together with somebody else, then the solicitor can only act if your interests are the same. If there is any conflict the solicitor cannot assist, or assist further.

Equally if the solicitor has another client whose interests conflict with yours, he cannot assist, or assist further. You may not even know of the other client (because of confidentiality you probably would not) and he may not know of you. But the rule still applies.

In the same way if the solicitor’s own interests conflict with yours, he cannot act for you (although he does not necessarily have to tell you why).

In this way you have a guarantee that your solicitor will be totally independent and serve your interests only. In return you have to agree that if one of these situations arises the solicitor can withdraw accordingly, even though he may not be able to tell you why because of confidentiality.

Our Anti-Discrimination policy

This firm is committed to promoting equality and diversity in all of its dealing with clients, third parties and employees. Please contact us for a copy of our equality and diversity policies.

We will not accept instructions to discriminate or where to carry out the instructions would involve a risk of discrimination. Any such instructions will entitle us to terminate acting for the client giving the instruction.
