If you do not disclose the whole of your financial situation during a money or property dispute with your former partner then you may be giving them grounds to cancel any arrangement or court order that results from the disclosure that you did make. In other words, if you tell fibs about what you've got and your property is split on the basis of what you've said the law says that you cannot really complain if the process has to start all over again when it's been discovered that you have not disclosed everything properly.
Of course the same thing happens both ways, so also if you discover that the other side has not disclosed everything that might be of use to you.
Also bear in mind that non-disclosure is a serious contempt of court and perjury and could result in imprisonment.
