We believe our clients should get personal attention. You are entitled to deal with a specific individual, not just a faceless company or office.
Each bespoke matter that we handle for you will be allocated to a specific person — we call this person the caseleader. You will be told the name of your caseleader at the start, and their status within the firm. They will be the person in overall charge of helping you through the matter from day to day, and the person that you will deal with mostly.
There may be other people involved with your case. They are called caseworkers, and you may deal with them occasionally. Caseworkers are usually (but not necessarily) less well qualified and/or experienced than the caseleader, and they act under the instructions and (where appropriate) supervision of the caseleader. Occasionally a caseworker will be more experienced or qualified than the caseleader, eg when the matter is specifically referred upwards for a consultation or written advice.
Neither the caseleader or the caseworkers are there 24 hours a day of course, and sometimes they are dealing with other clients or out of the office (eg at court). But whenever you try to contact your caseleader, if the caseleader is not there to help you then another caseworker should do his best to help you instead.
Please note that all caseleaders and caseworkers act solely as representatives of their firm, not in any personal capacity. They do not undertake any personal legal responsibility for the services rendered to you (even if you are on first name terms!). This legal responsibility rests solely with the firm. This applies even if the caseworker concerned is a partner in or member of the firm or otherwise very senior.
