WHY USE US?

Lawyers get involved in Pensions in all sorts of ways.

For starters, you might spend your entire working life paying into a pension fund, and then discover just as you're about to start taking your pension that somebody has whipped it all away from you and you aren't going to get anything. Is that true? Can they do that? Well the answer is you're going to need legal advice.

Even if you do get the pension is it the right amount? Has it been calculated correctly? How do you know you've got proper advice about your options on retirement? Because the chances are, the company into which you've been paying your pension contributions is not going to be terribly keen on advising you in terribly clear terms that you have the right to take your pension pot somewhere else and get yourself a pension from some other company instead.

Pensions also frequently become an issue for lawyers in the context of divorce. If for example you have a situation where a husband has got a huge pension fund and the wife has nothing, or vice versa, then frequently that can become a bone of contention, and there are provisions in law for pension funds to be split in those circumstances.
