Every occupier of a house or indeed anywhere else for that matter, has what the law calls an occupiers duty of care to everybody who comes within it. In essence, this is an obligation to take reasonable care of them and keep the premises in shipshape order so that they do not come to any harm.
It does not follow from this however that just because somebody might get hurt in your house they automatically have a claim against you. A lot depends on the circumstances. This can be quite an involved area of law so do get in touch with us so that we can advise you.
