WHY USE US?

In the course of acting for a client a lawyer will often talk to other people about the client's affairs, eg in a conveyancing chain the lawyer will talk to the other lawyers, talk to estate agents, talk to mortgage lenders, talk to valuers, etc, etc. In litigation the lawyer will talk to the opponent, the court, experts and other witnesses and so on.

In the course of these discussions the lawyer will be sharing information and documents etc that would otherwise be confidential to the client with these people for the purpose of progressing the job.

This will be subject to any specific instructions from the client to keep the confidence of any specific information, provided that it is understood that any such exclusion may need to be reported to the other party involved and could be overridden by court order.
