There used to be a time when if you went abroad on holiday and something went wrong there was not a lot you could do about it because you would soon be back in England and English law and English Courts, etc, could not really do much for you about things that happened outside England.
That is no longer the case however. Nowadays if you go abroad on holiday and something happens to you, usually the tour operator is responsible to compensate you just the same as if it had all happened in England.
