If you live in a house and it turns out there is something wrong with it, what can you do about it?
Well the first thing to remember is that houses do tend to go wrong all by themselves, simply through old age, disrepair or whatever. But sometimes it is somebody else's fault and if it is then you're entitled to seek redress for that.
For example if you're a tenant it might be the landlord's responsibility. If you're the owner then it may be that you've just bought a new house and it hasn't been built properly.
Or it may be that you have bought an older house, but you had it surveyed before you bought it and this imperfection was not brought to your attention in the survey report. In that case you might have a claim against the surveyor or the builder as the case may be.
Or it may be as simple as you hired somebody to build you a nice new extension or conservatory or whatever and they have made a hash of it.
In any of these instances a lawyer will guide you to sorting out how you get a remedy for this situation.
