WHY USE US?

Each court case is unique, and whilst they all tend to follow the same pattern, which is set out in this website under the 'court' menu. Their precise progress through these procedures is down to the judge in each individual case. The judge is in charge. He decides who does what when to bring the case to a state where it is ready for trial. He does this by making what are called 'Directions'.

Often the parties will agree on directions, and if they do the judge will normally make a direction that the parties do what they have agreed. But not necessarily. The judge is in charge, even if the parties agree otherwise.
