Lots of people seem to think that just because the Government is the Government it can do whatever it likes. This is completely untrue. Our system is based on the principle of the rule of law, and this means that the Government is subject to legal restraint just as the same as anybody else. This is completely clear, the only slight fly in the ointment being that the Government tends to make the laws to please itself.
