WHY USE US?

Any legal job that extends over a period of months will tend to have peaks and troughs of expense. One month it might be very expensive, the next month might be very cheap, comparatively speaking.

As a general rule, most litigation is most expensive right at the end, i.e., when it actually goes to court for a hearing. The second most expensive bit tends to be right at the beginning when the case is first being prepared for court, although sometimes to save expense this initial cost can be spread out more. In between the cost varies, and there are often long gaps so that sometimes some months may incur no expense at all, and other months huge expense.

Lawyers will sometimes try to help their clients by spreading out the expense in an attempt to smooth out these variations. That's why a monthly bill from a lawyer is not necessarily entirely related to the work carried out in that precise month. Sometimes it might be more or less than that in an effort to smooth out the expense, and if it is then other monthly bills before or afterwards will also be more or less than the work actually done in that month so as to compensate for it. Overall, it is the total that will be right not necessarily the individual monthly bills.
