WHY USE US?

Lawyers usually outsource archiving. What this means is that papers that they hold will not necessarily literally be held by them, but will be handed over to a separate storage company to hold in storage until the lawyer asks for them back or for them to be destroyed. In theory, this could mean that there is a risk of breaching confidentiality, because the storage company, and all its employees, may have access to these papers.

However, in most cases the risk is small because the papers are kept secure and there is no particular reason for anybody to want to look at them or to be able to find them if they wanted in a very large storage facility. Nevertheless, because the risk exists if you prefer not to take the risk then you can object to having the storage outsourced, and in that event you should tell the lawyer of your concerns and you can discuss with the lawyer what alternative arrangements might be made for your papers.
