Bradford's Best (Published 08/12/05) I can hardly believe it but we are now in the 15th year since this firm started, in the fair city of Bradford no less! In those days we were cramped into one little room in Little Germany. We shared a reception, a consultation room, a fax machine and photocopier and all those other small businessy bits and bobs with about 20 other little startup enterprises. I wonder where the rest of them are now? From small acorns huge oak trees grow, and as the years have gone by so we have grown with branches everywhere. There are 4 in Leeds for example, one of them now open 7 days a week, and 2 in the old town of Bradford. In Bradford nowadays we are to be found in Thornton, and down at the bottom end of the city in Oakenshaw (technically in Kirklees actually but who cares about these lines on a map?). Recently our office in Farsley celebrated its 10th birthday. Farsley is a funny sort of place. Technically it is in Leeds but actually it’s closer to Bradford. But Farsleyites are a proud independent bunch, and if you told one of them he was in either city he would probably give you a very strange look. Which is why I think that Farsley is a part of Bradford really, because that’s the Bradford way. We Bradford folk, and our Farsley cousins, and even our slightly more distant relatives in Leeds, are straightforward no-nonsense types. In fact it is hard to imagine how a Bradford lad like me ever became a lawyer in the first place. All that waffle and jargon? Surely not. But the point is that that is why Wilsons Solicitors exists. It is built on good Bradford foundations. None of that nonsense you so often get from so called professionals. Just good straight advice from people who know exactly what’s what and at a good Yorkshire price. Don’t forget if you are unfortunate enough to need legal advice over the Christmas period, we are now open 365 days a year at Horsforth. Think of us as being a bit like one of the emergency services, always there when needed. But of course I hope you don’t need us. I hope you are far too busy having a very happy Christmas and looking forward to a fulfilling and prosperous 2006. John Wilson
